UNDERSTANDING YOUR FUNDING

A clearer view
of your support.

READ YOUR OUTCOME

The number is a starting point.

Your classification helps establish funding.
Your care plan brings it to life.

The eight classifications relate to ongoing Support at Home funding. Your assessment outcome identifies the support you are approved for.

A classification alone does not tell you exactly how many visits you will receive. Discuss the services, their prices and your priorities together.

THREE THINGS TO SEPARATE

Funding. Prices. Contributions.

01

Your funding

The budget associated with your assessed classification supports approved services. Ongoing budgets operate quarterly.

02

Service prices

Providers publish their prices. Ask about the actual service, visit length and timing you need when comparing your options.

03

Your contributions

What you pay depends on applicable rules and your circumstances. Use current government advice and your fee advice, rather than an old package estimate.

BEFORE YOU AGREE

Bring these questions to the table.

  1. What has been approved?Review the outcome letter and support plan together.
  2. What will a typical period look like?Ask for a proposed schedule and budget using current prices.
  3. What happens when something changes?Discuss cancellations, changes in need and the process for reviewing your plan.
  4. How will I see what has been used?Ask the provider to explain statements and how to raise a question.

A DIFFERENT KIND OF CLASSIFICATION

Coming from an older package?

“Transitioned HCP Level 2” is not “Support at Home Classification 2”.

Four transitioned HCP classifications sit alongside the eight ongoing classifications. Check the wording on your own letter before comparing funding information.
